MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the St. Pete Road Runners (SPRR) is to encourage running and walking for individuals of all ages and abilities in a social environment while promoting fitness and providing education in the community. The SPRR club is well suited for the recreational runner or walker as well as the serious competitor.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game - After last year's wonderful success, Tampa Bay Ray baseball tickets are a little more difficult to come by now. However, on Sunday, August 2nd, the SPRR will again be taking quite a group out to the old ball game to watch them battle against a hot Kansas City Royals team. We started with 60 tickets but they are disappearing quickly. Tickets are for sale at $30 each. Don't wait on this opportunity though as last year's social event sold out quickly. For further information or to order your tickets email Debbie Wayland at onthebeach4ever@yahoo.com and get ready for some fun.

Boot Camp is Back on the Beach - With all of the spring breakers and snowbirds beginning their northern summer migration it's time that Boot Camp with Mike Masters hits the beach again. If you want to find out what a real full body workout is and get in shape for the upcoming summer months, meet Mike and others at Upham Beach in St Pete Beach on Monday's and Wednesday's at 6:15. Not only are you getting a great workout for a minimal price, you'll be held accountable and more so motivated by some great individuals around you. This is truly an awesome opportunity for everyone to take advantage of.

Beach Series Race #1 - Off Without a Hitch - We can now officially say that summer is here. The sunning is shining down with 100% humity, the afternoon monsoons have begun to strike the coastline on a daily basis, and of course the SPRR Beach Series Races are in full swing. As we all know from last year not even the weather can keep us from having a good time at these races so make plans to come out and join us on the final two Friday evenings of each summer month, July 31st and August 28th. This year we will have some great age group awards, raffle prizes, and after the race feel free to stick around and socialize with friends and other members as we'll toast the night away. Your mail in registration is downloadable now and the online entry can be found on the links that follow:

A Worthwhile Community Partner - Significant community involvement is such a vital objective for the St Pete Road Runners and there may be no better community organization to partner with and support than The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. The Hospice Center courteously provides a space and timeframe for hosting both the SPRR monthly board of directors meeting and the SPRR monthly general membership meeting. More importantly than this, the SPRR would like to recognize that The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast is a nonprofit organization with a dedicated staff whose purpose is to provide a vast number of programs and amount of support in various community settings. From grief counseling to social work and from medical care and treatment to alternative therapies, the Hospice Center is a treasured and indispensable element in our community with programs for everyone. For more information about the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast or to make a financial donation or time commitment to the organization please call (727) 586-4432 or visit their website via any of our Hospice links. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Friday Night Run and Social - Don't forget that you can start your weekend off on the right foot with a scenic run in downtown St Petersburg of up to 6.4 miles. Join club members every Friday night at 6:00 pm at the 30th Ave Park for a waterfront run to the Pier and back. And don’t forget to stick around and celebrate your run with other club members as we take in some great food and libations afterwards!
