SPRR Race Series Changes - Due to an error there have been a couple of schedule changes for the remaining SPRR Race Series events. The third and final SPRR Beach Series Race, run on August 27th, will be the next scoring event. This takes the place of a nonexistent race that was previously believed to be in August. Our September race will be the Hillsborough Sheriff Ranch 5K Run run on September 11th. The Rattlesnake Run 5 Miler on October 16th will be the following race. And finally, a November race will take place but is yet to be decided. We will get you that information as soon as it is finalized.

No August Club Meeting - There will be no August club meeting for the SPRR Board of Directors or General Membership as the Rays Baseball Social Outing will be our SPRR Summer Gathering. Please take note of this and mark your calendars so that you're at our next meeting on Thursday, September 9th. Hope to see you at the ball game. For more details about the game, please read above.

Get Involved With the Women's Running Magazine Half Marathon - For anyone who was at last year's Women's Running Magazine Half Marathon and 5K you know what a huge and positive success it was. It's safe to say that this year's event will even trump that. On Sunday, November 21st, thousands of women will once again toe the starting line in downtown St. Petersburg to run the 2nd Annual Half Marathon or 5K. With such positive feedback and growing participation, we too at the SPRR need our volunteer numbers to grow. Please consider coming out for the morning and helping in one of our numerous volunteer areas. For more information on volunteering for this opportunity please contact Eric Sager or for more information on running in this event please visit the Women's Running Magazine Website and search under the Races tab on the left side of the page.

A Worthwhile Community Partner - Significant community involvement is such a vital objective for the St Pete Road Runners and there may be no better community organization to partner with and support than The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. The Hospice Center courteously provides a space and timeframe for hosting both the SPRR monthly board of directors meeting and the SPRR monthly general membership meeting. More importantly than this, the SPRR would like to recognize that The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast is a nonprofit organization with a dedicated staff whose purpose is to provide a vast number of programs and amount of support in various community settings. From grief counseling to social work and from medical care and treatment to alternative therapies, the Hospice Center is a treasured and indispensable element in our community with programs for everyone. For more information about the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast or to make a financial donation or time commitment to the organization please call
